Job summary

PENTA-OCEAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LIMITED is seeking a proactive IT Officer to provide L1/L2 application support and system maintenance for shore-based and vessel operations. You will troubleshoot AMOS and PENTA Horizon, support users, and ensure system reliability both in-office and onboard company vessels.

Responsibilities include incident management, health checks on servers, user training, and assisting with system enhancements and basic SQL scripting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year IT Application Support or Helpdesk experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases (Oracle / MS SQL).
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python) is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and user-centric mindset.
• Willingness to travel overseas and board vessels when required.

Role Overview:

You will be the key contact for troubleshooting core maritime applications (AMOS & PENTA Horizon), supporting users, and ensuring system reliability both in-office and onboard company vessels.

Responsibilities:

• Application Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AMOS, PENTA Horizon, and core maritime management software for shore-based staff and vessel crew.


• Incident Management: Log, investigate, and resolve user-reported incidents in accordance with established support SLAs.


• System Maintenance: Conduct routine health checks on office and vessel servers; assist in monitoring and maintaining system security across vessel management platforms.


• User Enablement: Develop user guides, technical manuals, and deliver software training for office staff and shipboard crew.


• System Enhancements: Gather user feedback and assist with UAT/testing for application enhancements and upgrades.


• Technical Patching: Perform database queries and basic SQL scripts to support data fixes and routine reporting.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.


• Minimum 1 year of experience in an IT Application Support or Helpdesk environment.


• Hands-on knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases (Oracle / MS SQL).


• Basic understanding of server maintenance or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is an advantage.


• Strong communication skills with a user-centric mindset.
