Job summary

Our client, a well-established fabless semiconductor company, seeks a circuit design engineer to own end-to-end IP block design for advanced process nodes. This role sits in the core silicon team with Asia/global market exposure.

Requirements include 5+ years in custom circuit design, strong CMOS/analog fundamentals, and hands-on experience with HSPICE and Virtuoso. Based in Singapore, collaboration across design, layout, and verification is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in custom circuit design.
• Proficiency with analog integrated circuit design principles.
• Experience with HSPICE, Virtuoso, or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Design high-performance and low-power custom IP circuits on advanced process nodes.
• Perform simulation, functional verification, and characterization of IP blocks to meet performance targets.
• Conduct feature extraction and post-layout analysis for IP components.
• Guide and review layout engineers to ensure design intent is faithfully translated.
• Develop test circuits and support chip-level integration and validation for designed IP.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with physical design, verification, and process teams.
• Continuously evaluate and improve design methodologies and flows to enhance efficiency and quality.

This role sits within their core silicon engineering team, where you will be responsible for the end-to-end design of customised IP blocks targeting advanced process nodes. Key Responsibilities

• Design high-performance and low-power custom IP circuits (including standard cells, macros, and SRAM) on advanced process nodes
• Perform simulation, functional verification, and characterisation of IP blocks to ensure performance and reliability targets are met
• Conduct feature extraction and post-layout analysis for corresponding IP components
• Guide and review layout engineers on physical implementation of IP, ensuring design intent is faithfully translated
• Develop test circuits and support chip-level integration and validation for designed IP
• Collaborate cross-functionally with physical design, verification, and process teams throughout the design cycle
• Continuously evaluate and improve design methodologies and flows to enhance efficiency and quality

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in custom circuit design, with solid knowledge of CMOS devices, processes, and analog integrated circuit principles
• Proficiency in industry-standard analog/custom design tools such as HSPICE, Virtuoso, or equivalent
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Tcl for design automation and flow support
• Understanding of physical layout design principles and ability to guide layout teams effectively
• Experience with SRAM or memory IP design (is a bonus)
