Job summary

Innowave Tech Singapore is seeking an IoT and Automation Engineer to connect, monitor and automate manufacturing equipment across semiconductor fabs and back-end factories. You will design and deploy edge, sensor and control systems on production equipment, scaling from pilot tools to fleetwide rollouts without modifying the equipment itself.

You will bridge the factory floor and our AI platform, collecting data from interfaces, screens and sensors, implementing control logic, remote operation

Qualifications

• Educational background as stated in the job listing: polytechnic or bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 3+ years in industrial automation, industrial IoT, or embedded systems with on-site deployment.
• Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Rockwell) and SCADA/HMI concepts.
• Experience integrating sensors, actuators and edge devices with production equipment.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and edge computing hardware.
• Skills in Python and/or C/C++ for automation and data pipelines.
• Ability to read schematics and use bench tools for fault diagnosis.
• Willingness to work on-site in production environments and travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Design, install and commission IoT and automation systems on manufacturing equipment on-site and in cleanrooms.
• Develop control logic (PLC/HMI) and automation sequences integrated with existing equipment.
• Integrate equipment with factory systems (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, SECS/GEM to CIM host/MES).
• Configure and monitor data pipelines with Data Science teams for analytics & AI models.
• Diagnose hardware, connectivity and performance issues and feed insights back to design.
• Create test and acceptance procedures and write installation guides and support docs for fleet scale.
