Job summary

SGInnovate in Singapore is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Investments team, focusing on direct investments. The role is based in Singapore.

The candidate will evaluate private investments, conduct due diligence, and shape deal structures while collaborating with deal teams and portfolio companies across sectors and stages of growth.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a top-tier investment bank, management consulting firm, private equity fund, corporate, or venture capital fund.
• Proven track record in semiconductors, computing, or financial services sectors preferred.
• Solid investment and deal execution experience including due diligence and closing direct investments and divestments.
• Strong financial, commercial, and valuation modeling skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to work independently in a less structured environment and collaborate with deal teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• English business fluency; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in evaluating private investments (minority equity, mezzanine, early growth) and manage portfolios/divestments.
• Conduct in-depth sector and technology research to identify opportunities and guide investment strategy.
• Lead deal sourcing, due diligence, structuring, pricing, and negotiations with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives and market entry strategies.
• Contribute to special projects within the firm.

Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual and a suitable candidate who will join the Investments team to primarily help with direct investments. The role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in evaluating private investments, including minority equity, mezzanine financing, and early growth capital, as well as managing portfolios and overseeing divestments.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis on sectors, markets, and technology trends to identify emerging opportunities and shape the investment strategy within targeted sectors.
• Play an active role in deal sourcing, evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, setting pricing, and negotiating with key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives to identify value-creation opportunities, support market entry into new segments, and develop capital and exit strategies.
• Contribute to special projects within the firm as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong academic background, with a postgraduate degree or equivalent being an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in a top-tier investment bank, management consulting firm, private equity fund, corporate, or venture capital fund.
• A proven track record of performance and success in the semiconductors, computing, or financial services sectors is preferred.
• Solid commercial judgment and investment experience in deal execution, due diligence, and closing of direct investments and divestments is highly preferred.
• Strong financial, commercial, and valuation modeling skills are beneficial.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, is essential.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter in a less structured environment and collaborate effectively with various deal teams.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Due to the geographical scope of the role, business-level fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
