• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience presenting complex and technical initiatives to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Market research and deal-sourcing: identify and originate investment opportunities and build proprietary deal flows.
• Due diligence: assess viability, risks and terms, support investment memo and IC presentation.
• Portfolio management: monitor corporate actions and strategy execution to grow enterprise value.

Responsibilities

The Investment Manager will work closely with and under the guidance of more senior members of the investment team to conduct the following:

• Market research and deal‑sourcing: Research, analyse and synthesize technology and innovation trends to identify and originate investment opportunities; Network and form partnerships within the local and global innovation ecosystem to build proprietary deal flows. Candidates are required not only to leverage existing channels, but to build their own deal‑flow sources.
• Due diligence: Assess commercial viability and conduct due diligence on investment targets, considering risk‑reward scenarios, as well as strategic and financial considerations; Structure investments and negotiate investment terms, working closely with Legal, Corporate Finance functions. Support the preparation of the investment memo and presentation to Investment Committee.
• Portfolio management: Conduct portfolio management including assessing corporate actions and strategy implementation to grow enterprise value, and where applicable, work with other EDB teams to assist on business development, branding and awareness etc, to achieve the development and financial objectives on the investment.
• Corporate strategy and processes: Support senior management in overall corporate strategy and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and above in Science or Engineering, with a strong preference for Computer Science, Software engineering.
• At least 4 years of relevant investment experience OR
• At least 8 years of research or work experience in deep tech sectors. Outstanding candidates without prior investment experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience presenting complex and technical initiatives to senior leaders.
• Team player with strong abilities to multi‑task and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Skills and Attributes

• Demonstrated success in working in ambiguous, quick scaling environment, comfortable with high agency.
• Genuine and deep curiosity in software and artificial intelligence market and technology developments.
• Strong technical knowledge in software development, Artificial Intelligence technology stack.
• Experience in designing and operating software systems incorporating deep Artificial Intelligence technologies in personal or professional context.
• Have experience in developing technology from prototype to product stages and demonstrated ability to maintain an end‑user‑focused outlook in taking products to market.
• Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.
