Qualifications

• More than three years of professional M&A deal experience.
• Experience in transaction analysis and execution including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, and deal documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree from a leading university with strong academic record; degrees in finance, economics, accounting, engineering or related quantitative discipline welcome.
• Native Japanese language skills and strong written and spoken English.
• Experience with Japanese tender offers, listed companies, or cross-border transactions is an advantage.

We are an asset manager seeking an investment professional with hands‑on M&A deal experience to research Japanese companies and assess investment opportunities arising from acquisitions, tender offers, restructurings, and other corporate events.

What you’ll do

• Research Japanese listed companies, their ownership structures, financial performance, and strategic options.
• Analyze announced and potential M&A transactions, including valuation, deal terms, financing, regulatory considerations, and the likelihood of completion.
• Build financial models and develop clear investment recommendations for portfolio managers.
• Read Japanese filings, company announcements, and market commentary, and engage directly with companies and other market participants.
• Monitor live transactions and identify changes that affect the investment case.

What we’re looking for

• More than three years of professional experience working on M&A deals, ideally in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or a related role.
• Direct involvement in transaction analysis and execution, including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, and deal documentation.
• A bachelor’s degree from a leading university, with a strong academic record. Degrees in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline are particularly welcome.
• Native Japanese language skills and strong written and spoken English.
• Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to turn detailed research into a concise investment view.
• Experience with Japanese tender offers, listed companies, or cross-border transactions is an advantage.
