Job summary

SoftBank Investment Advisers in Singapore is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join our investment team. You’ll participate in due diligence, financial modelling, and deal structuring for technology-enabled investments, while collaborating with senior leadership to shape transactions and monitor portfolio performance.

You will present insights, research target companies for Vision Fund investments, and help educate executives on disruptive tech trends.

Qualifications

• BA/BS from top universities, pre-MBA.
• Up to 3 years of work experience in investment banking or private equity at leading tier 1 firms.
• Excellent proficiency in English and Mandarin or Korean.
• Strong strategic, analytical, communication and leadership skills.
• Driven, self-starter with passion for excellence and adaptability.
• Deep analytical, research and technical skills.
• Passion for technological innovation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence, financial modelling, deal negotiations on prospective investments and communicate executive-level insights.
• Research and recommend companies for the Vision Fund to invest in.
• Communicate results and insights with senior leaders (e.g., through live presentations and ongoing analysis/reports).
• Manage end-to-end analytical projects by quickly understanding context and developing structured analysis to reach alignment and provide guidance to senior stakeholders.
• Identify and educate other executives on new, innovative technology trends and markets, and recommend high-potential investments.
• Actively monitor the portfolio companies and assist with key strategic projects.
• Work with colleagues in different time zones to address urgent business matters, which may involve outside standard working hours.
• Support projects related to SoftBank Group's broader strategic initiatives.

About the role

SoftBank Investment Advisers is looking for a top Analyst/ Associate to join our investment team in Singapore. As part of the deal team, you’ll play an active role in due diligence, structuring, and financing transactions in technology-enabled sectors, as well as assist in monitoring portfolio companies. You’ll work in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, with frequent opportunities to interact with the firm’s senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence, financial modelling, deal negotiations on prospective investments and communicate executive-level insights.
• Research and recommend companies for the Vision Fund to invest in.
• Communicate results and insights with senior leaders (e.g., through live presentations and ongoing analysis/reports).

Requirements

• BA/BS at top universities, pre-MBA.
• Up to 3 years of work experience in investment banking or private equity at leading tier 1 firms, with candidates expected to be at the Analyst or first-year Associate level.
• Excellent proficiency in English, in addition to either Mandarin or Korean. Please specify in your CV which languages you are proficient in, both spoken and written.
