Phillip Securities Pte Ltd's Phillip Innovation Centre offers an engineering internship where you will work on digital asset and blockchain systems and contribute to real projects under guided onboarding.

You will gain hands-on experience with AI-assisted development, API work, and platform engineering using RabbitMQ, NestJS, AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, while collaborating in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on API development experience and familiarity with Java/Spring Boot and JS frameworks.
• Willingness to use AI-powered coding tools and AI-assisted development.
• Interest in blockchain, digital assets, and related technologies.
• Ability to work well in a team in a fast-moving environment.

About the Internship

At the Phillip Innovation Centre, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on digital asset and blockchain systems used in real-world scenarios. As an intern, you’ll be part of a team building and improving products that support digital finance use cases across the region.

You’ll work in an engineering environment that incorporates AI tools to support development, helping improve productivity, code quality, and problem-solving. From day one, you’ll be supported with a structured onboarding process and given opportunities to contribute to real projects, learn from experienced engineers, and build practical skills.

About Us

Symphony is our digital asset platform, built as part of our ongoing journey to shape the next generation of digital asset infrastructure in Asia. We focus on solving practical problems in digital finance and delivering scalable solutions, such as:

• Digital Asset Security: Developing robust solutions to safely store and manage digital assets.
• Tokenisation of Securitised Assets: Enabling securitised assets to be issued, managed, and distributed more efficiently through digital infrastructure.
• Automated Settlements: Streamlining processes to improve liquidity and expand access across investor channels.

What You’ll Work On

As an intern, you’ll contribute to real engineering work across our platform:

• AI-Augmented Development: Work with AI tools to improve coding efficiency, productivity, and developer experience. Use AI-assisted workflows (e.g. code generation, debugging support) as part of day-to-day development.
• API Development: Build and enhance APIs that meet regulatory requirements and integrate with core systems, from the back office to the investor marketplace.
• Platform Engineering: Gain hands-on experience with technologies such as RabbitMQ, NestJS, microservices architecture, AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• System Improvements: Work with the team to identify issues, improve performance, and make systems more reliable and maintainable.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for students who want to build real engineering skills and are willing to learn by doing. Ideal candidates will:

• Be studying Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Have hands-on experience in API development, Java Spring Boot, JavaScript frameworks (e.g. NextJS, NestJS), RDMS, ORMs, and automated testing frameworks.
• Be comfortable with AI-assisted development: Experience with AI-powered coding tools (e.g. Claude workflows, AI code assistants) is advantageous. More importantly, you are open to using AI to improve how you work and solve problems.
• Have interest in blockchain, smart contracts, and cryptocurrency.
• Work well in a team, take ownership of tasks, and adapt in a fast-moving environment.
