Job summary

Sembcorp Utilities is offering a full-time internship in Singapore focused on data analytics for energy operations. You will assist with automating reports, onboard data into analytics platforms, and validating datasets to ensure accuracy.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze performance trends, support dashboards, and help develop digital tools for internal use. Strong Python and Excel skills are preferred, with interest in renewable energy appreciated.

Qualifications

• Background in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation, data processing and analysis.
• Familiarity with databases, APIs and data integration concepts is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills; Power BI or other visualization tools preferred.
• Exposure to web application development is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support automation of routine reporting and operational workflows to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
• Integrate data into analytics platforms and ensure data quality.
• Perform data extraction, cleansing and validation for monitoring and reporting.
• Analyze performance data to identify trends and anomalies in solar assets.
• Conduct system activation and connectivity checks for new solar sites.
• Support UAT for onboarded sites and analytics dashboards enhancements.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and data visualization tools.
• Provide data extraction, reporting and analytics support to internal stakeholders across functions.
• Assist in designing and enhancing internal web-based applications and digital tools.
• Document workflows and technical procedures for continuous improvement.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Support the automation of routine reporting and operational workflows to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
• Manage the onboarding and integration of data into analytics platforms, ensuring data quality and completeness.
• Perform routine data extraction, cleansing, and validation activities to support operational monitoring and reporting.
• Analyze performance data and identify trends, anomalies, and underperforming solar assets.
• Conduct system activation and connectivity checks for newly commissioned solar sites.
• Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for newly onboarded sites and enhancements to analytics dashboards.
• Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools.
• Provide data extraction, reporting, and analytics support to internal stakeholders across functions.
• Assist in the design, development, and enhancement of internal web-based applications and digital tools.
• Document workflows, business requirements, and technical procedures to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Background in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation, data processing, and analysis.
• Familiarity with databases, APIs, and data integration concepts is advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or other visualization tools is preferred.
• Exposure to web application development (frontend and/or backend) is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Keen interest in digitalization, automation, data analytics, and renewable energy operations.
