ING Wholesale Banking APAC Finance is seeking a motivated Finance Data & Analytics Intern to join our Singapore-based team. You will work at the intersection of finance and data, using Python and data-visualisation tools to drive decision-making across 10+ APAC markets.

No finance background required; a curious, technically inclined student will thrive in a fast-paced, multi-market environment. Internship lasts 6 months from January to June in Singapore.

Qualificações

• Pursuing a relevant degree in data/engineering fields.
• Strong Python skills including pandas and numpy.
• Experience with Excel for data manipulation and pivot tables.
• Good analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Clear communication to explain data insights.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau for dashboards.
• Basic SQL knowledge (SQLite/MySQL).
• Exposure to version control (Git/GitHub).
• Interest in AI/ML applications in business.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for KPI reporting.
• Assist in data extraction, cleaning, and transformation with Python.
• Automate routine reporting tasks currently done in Excel.
• Run data quality checks and reconcile figures across systems.
• Create automated data pipelines and MIS templates for APAC markets.
• Design self-service dashboards showing income, expense, and client metrics.
• Develop scripts to automate month-end and quarter-end reporting.

ING Wholesale Banking APAC Finance is looking for a motivated Finance Data & Analytics Intern to join our Singapore-based team. This internship sits at the intersection of finance and data, giving you hands‑on exposure to how a leading international bank uses Python, data visualisation tools, and analytics to drive decision‑making across 10+ APAC markets. You do not need a finance background - we are looking for curious, technically inclined students who are comfortable with data and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, multi‑market environment.

What will you be doing?

• Data & Analytics Support
  • Assist in building and maintaining dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for financial KPI reporting
  • Support data extraction, cleaning, and transformation using Python (pandas, openpyxl, etc.)
  • Help automate routine reporting tasks currently done manually in Excel
  • Run data quality checks and assist in reconciling figures across reporting systems
• Finance Analytics & Reporting
  • Build and maintain automated data pipelines and reporting templates to extract, transform, and distribute MIS data across APAC markets
  • Design and deploy self‑service dashboards (Power BI / Tableau) surfacing income, expense, RWA, and client metrics for senior stakeholders
  • Develop scripts and workflows to automate recurring report generation, reducing manual intervention in month‑end and quarter‑end cycles
• AI & Digital Initiatives
  • Participate in ING's AI and digitalisation projects under the guidance of the APAC Finance AI SPOC
  • Assist in testing and documenting AI‑enabled tools and prototypes
  • Contribute ideas on how data workflows can be further automated or improved

What qualities and skills are we looking for?

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in Python - comfortable writing scripts, using libraries like pandas and numpy, and debugging code
• Familiarity with Excel - pivot tables, formulas, and basic data manipulation
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Good communication skills - able to explain data findings clearly
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or any other data visualisation tool
• Basic knowledge of SQL or databases (e.g., SQLite, MySQL)
• Understanding of financial concepts (income statements, KPIs, balance sheet basics)
• Experience with version control (Git/GitHub)
• Interest in AI/ML applications in a business context
