Job summary

II-VI Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a data analytics professional to work on cosmetic appearance analysis, standardization, and data visualization. You will collaborate with QA, refine appearance criteria, and enhance the cosmetic gallery and related web interfaces.

The role emphasizes building and iterating Power BI dashboards, data collection, and documentation across departments, with a strong focus on reproducible analysis and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is required.
• Proficiency with Agile and Oracle Database; AI knowledge for cosmetic analytics is preferred.
• Ability to draft and analyze engineering data and evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with QA to understand cosmetic acceptance criteria.
• Conduct cosmetic analysis to standardize and classify appearance criteria.
• Update cosmetic gallery and improve Django-based webpage as needed.
• Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to optimize surface quality inspection processes.

Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the QA Specialist to understand the requirements for cosmetic acceptance/rejection criteria.
• Conduct cosmetic analysis to identify insights and opportunities for standardization and classification in Cosmetic appearance criteria for inter-department coordination.
• Update the cosmetic gallery periodically and improve the webpage application by Django if necessary
• Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources, not limited to databases, spreadsheets, Agile & Oracle report.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify insights and opportunities for optimization within surface qualify inspection including defletrometry automation inspection .
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on Power BI dashboard designs to meet business needs.
• Document data sources, methodologies, and processes to ensure transparency and reproducibility of analysis.
• Support other Power BI design related projects.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

Skills

• Agile & Oracle Database: Proficiency in working with relational databases is crucial. Understanding data transfer, querying, and database design is essential.
• AI or relevant knowledge: Familiarity with Artificial Intelligent in auto-populate cosmetic defects into respective category is more preferred. Capable in Cosmetic Analytical skill on vision and interactive visual reports with explanations is important. Identify parameters, models, and relationships; Analytical thinking for converting Images into relevant reports and criteria.
• Drafting & Analytical: Knowledge in drafting & data collection on analyzing engineering evaluation. Understand how to simulate and perform failure mode analytical skill in various product defect involvement.
