Job summary

The Housing and Development Board invites you to join the in-house Urban Design & Architectural Innovation team within the Centre of Excellence in Urban Design & Development, Building & Research Institute, to work at the intersection of design and research with real-world impact in Singapore.

You will contribute to BTO developments, perform detailed design development, BIM, and project exposure, seeing how design decisions scale in one of the world’s most respected public housing programmes.

Qualifications

• Architecture internship or study with design emphasis.
• Experience with Photoshop and 3D modelling tools.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and rendering software.

What the role is:

As part of the HDB Internship Programme, you will join HDB's in-house Urban Design & Architectural Innovation team within the Centre of Excellence in Urban Design & Development, Building & Research Institute — working at the intersection of design and research with real-world impact.

What you will be working on:

You will contribute meaningfully to the design of BTO developments that thousands of Singaporeans will one day call home, carrying out actual consultancy work alongside our architects. Your work will include:

• Detailed design development and preparation of authority submission drawings
• Spatial design applied research, with potential involvement in testing new spatial innovations that inform how Singapore's public housing is shaped for generations to come

You will also have the opportunity to develop practical skills highly valued in the industry:

• Building Information Modelling (BIM) proficiency that will give you a strong foundation for your architectural career
• Project management exposure at the construction stage

What we are looking for:

Preferred Disciplines: Architecture
