Job summary

Housing & Development Board offers an internship attached to the Centre of Excellence for Geomatics Engineering & Geospatial Department (GEMS) within the Properties & Land Group in Singapore. You will gain hands-on experience with a live project management software used on land survey projects.

During the internship from 7 Dec 2026 to 8 Jan 2027, you will study survey workflows, propose end-user improvements, and research market platforms for future migration.

• Strong problem-solving from end-user perspective.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to the current land survey project tracking software used by GEMS.
• Study and understand at least 3 land survey project management workflows.
• Suggest improvements to make the platform more user-friendly for searching plans and retrieving survey data.
• Research and propose platforms or tools for future migration of the application.

Job description

What the role is:

Under the internship programme, you will be attached to the Centre of Excellence for Geomatics Engineering & Geospatial Department (GEMS) in HDB's Properties & Land Group.

What you will be working on:

During your internship, you will gain hands-on exposure to a live project management software used by GEMS across various land survey projects. You will develop a practical understanding of how different survey project workflows are managed and contribute meaningful improvements from an end-user perspective.At the end of the internship, you will also be expected to recommend suitable platforms available in the market to support a future migration of the application.

Key Tasks and Learning Outcomes

• Gain exposure to and develop a working understanding of the current land survey project tracking software
• Study and understand a minimum of 3 land survey project management workflow (e.g. Engineering Topo, 3D LiDAR for interior, Recess area related)
• Provide suggestions and improvements based on an end-user perspective, with the goal of making the platform more user-friendly across various groups for querying and retrieving survey plans, including organising plans by towns for more efficient search and retrieval
• Research and recommend suitable platforms or tools in the market for future application migration
