Job summary

Astek is seeking a Platform Engineer to support and maintain mission‑critical on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure within a regulated environment. You will ensure platform reliability, operational stability, and drive infrastructure improvements while supporting a long‑term technology refresh programme.

You will work with internal teams and vendors to manage operations, handle incidents, coordinate projects, and ensure compliance with security and architectural standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Experience in VM migration and production infrastructure operations.
• Security and governance experience in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to support and maintain mission-critical on-premises and hybrid infrastructure within a regulated environment. This role is responsible for ensuring platform reliability, operational stability, and infrastructure improvements while supporting a long-term technology refresh programme.

You will work closely with internal teams and L1 vendors to manage daily operations, resolve complex technical issues, oversee infrastructure changes, and coordinate technical projects involving cloud and hybrid platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support and maintenance for infrastructure platforms across on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Manage infrastructure technologies including compute, storage, virtualisation, operating systems, backup, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (HA).
• Lead technical troubleshooting, incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), recovery planning, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate vendors to ensure timely completion of incidents, service requests, operational activities, and technical deliverables.
• Review technical changes, service requests (SRs), implementation plans, and recovery procedures to ensure compliance with operational, security, and architectural standards.
• Support technical and security governance, including change reviews, risk assessments, compliance activities, and operational readiness.
• Contribute to infrastructure refresh, upgrade, migration, and cloud modernisation initiatives while maintaining stable production operations.
• Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items across infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with application, network, security, and vendor teams, while maintaining runbooks, SOPs, governance documentation, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Only Singapore Citizens and PR will be considered
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Must have experience in Virtual Machine (VM) migration
• Minimum 5 years of experience in platform or infrastructure operations supporting production or mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies including virtualisation, operating systems, storage, backup, networking, HA, and DR.
• Experience managing vendor-supported environments and coordinating external support teams.
• Hands‑on experience in technical troubleshooting, incident management, and complex problem resolution.
• Experience supporting technical governance, security governance, change management, and service request approval processes.
• Experience coordinating infrastructure projects, including risk management, dependency tracking, stakeholder coordination, and project delivery.
• Experience within government or public sector environments and data centre operations is advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
