Job summary

PERSOL Singapore is seeking an experienced IoT connectivity engineer to design, implement and maintain industrial data flows across PLCs, sensors and gateway devices. You will build robust edge apps and data pipelines, ensuring testing, monitoring, security and operational stability in hybrid cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of hands-on experience with PLCs and IoT platforms.
• Experience designing, configuring and operating PLC systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA and industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, S7, TCP, UDP, Ethernet, Modbus, PROFINET).
• Experience with IoT platforms and technologies (Siemens PLCs, Kepware, ThingWorx, Linux).
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash and scripting environments.
• Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS and databases (Oracle, Tibero, SQL).
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with C#, Java, Spring Boot and Vue.js.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot connectivity, latency and data-quality issues across devices, interfaces and platforms.
• Develop and maintain device connectivity for sensors, PLCs, robots and gateways.
• Implement data-ingestion pipelines for cloud and on-premises environments.
• Develop interfaces connecting PLCs with pipelines, databases and socket-based systems.
• Configure, deploy and enhance Docker containers for applications in private-cloud environments.
• Support device provisioning, configuration and monitoring.
• Write reliable and testable code for edge applications, device adapters and basic backend services.
• Collaborate with field engineers to define interface requirements and support testing and optimisation.
• Work with software developers, DBAs and server engineers to deliver features.
• Follow architecture, security and coding standards to maintain data accuracy and system stability.
