Job summary

TRUST RECRUIT PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across the group, including contracts, corporate affairs and commercial matters. You will review, draft and negotiate contracts and advise on risk management.

You will coordinate with external counsels, assist in setting up subsidiaries and project offices, and support business units on legal issues while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law (LLB/JD) or equivalent.
• 6–10 years’ post-qualification experience with strong construction law knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to the group of companies and business units on contracts, corporate and commercial issues, including review, drafting, negotiation and advisory work.
• Support commercial, contract and claims management of projects.
• Assist setting up subsidiaries, associates, branches, and project offices, and the closing or liquidation of such set up.
• Coordinate with external legal counsels and consultants and oversee the progress of their work.
• Coordinate with and advise business units and departments on legal matters.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and support to the group of companies and business units on a broad range of legal, contractual, corporate and commercial issues; including contracts review, drafting, negotiation and advisory generally
• Support commercial, contract and claims management of projects
• Support setting up of subsidiaries, associates, branches and project offices, and the closing or liquidation of such set up
• Coordinate with external legal counsels and consultants and oversee the progress of their work
• Coordinate with and advise business units and departments on legal and contractual matters
• Any other duties to be assigned from time to time

Prerequisites:

• Degree in Law
• 6 to 10 years’ post-qualification experience, with good knowledge of construction law and with significant experience in leading negotiation and finalisation of construction contracts, particularly for engineering, procurement and construction projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, pro-active and independent
• High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
• Willing to travel when required
