Job summary

NHG Health invites a Staff Nurse / Senior Staff Nurse (Mental Health Nursing) to join the Ambulatory Services/ IMH Clinic - Adult. You will deliver holistic psychiatric nursing care in a recovery-focused environment.

You will assess, plan, and implement care with multidisciplinary teams, supervise junior staff, and contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in a busy psychiatric setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and registration with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, and evaluation.
• Provide safe, ethical, evidence-based nursing care per standards.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure infection control compliance.
• Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies with clinical leadership when needed.
• Perform venipuncture, ECGs, dressing changes, specimen collection, and patient assessments.
• Supervise Enrolled Nurses and junior staff; delegate activities as appropriate.
• Educate patients, caregivers, nursing students, and colleagues; participate in quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Involve in service development and process improvement projects.
• For Senior Staff Nurses, provide mentorship and staff development support.

Job Description:

Join our dynamic nursing team and play a key role in delivering safe, compassionate, and recovery-focused mental healthcare.

You will provide holistic nursing care, foster a therapeutic environment, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support patients and caregivers throughout their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care through assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with legal, safety, and infection control requirements.
• Respond effectively to psychiatric and medical emergencies.
• Perform clinical procedures including venepuncture, ECGs, dressing changes, specimen collection, and patient assessments.
• Monitor patients' clinical conditions, identify high-risk or vulnerable patients, and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Provide specialized care for patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and other mental health interventions.
• Educate and support patients, caregivers, nursing students, and junior staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Supervise and delegate nursing activities to Enrolled Nurses and support care staff.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Contribute to service development and process improvement projects.
• For Senior Staff Nurses, provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support staff development.

Requirements:

Educational and Professional Requirements
