Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Microelectronics, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or closely related field.
• 10+ years of IC design experience, including 5+ years in team management.
• Strong CMOS process understanding and analog IC design flow.
• Experience leading chip specification, design, verification and tape-out activities.
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, HSPICE, Spectre, APS, Calibre, MATLAB; layout awareness.

IC Design Lead – Analog & Mixed-Signal

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced IC Design Lead to lead its chip design team and oversee development from specification definition through design, verification and tape-out.

This role combines people leadership with strong technical involvement in analog and mixed-signal IC development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the IC design team in defining chip specifications and delivering design and tape-out milestones.
• Oversee circuit design, simulation and verification to meet performance and quality requirements.
• Develop project plans, allocate engineering resources and monitor design progress.
• Lead technical reviews, resolve complex design challenges and optimise circuit performance.
• Work closely with layout and test engineers to support design implementation and validation.
• Ensure accurate and complete design documentation, including schematics, layout documentation and test reports.
• Manage, mentor and develop team members, fostering effective cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or above in Microelectronics, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant IC design experience, including at least 5 years of team management experience.
• Strong understanding of CMOS processes, analog circuit fundamentals and the analog IC design flow.
• Demonstrated experience leading chip specification, design, verification and tape-out activities.
• Proficiency with relevant EDA tools, including Cadence Virtuoso, HSPICE, Spectre, APS and Calibre.
• Familiarity with IC layout design and its impact on circuit performance.
• Proficiency in MATLAB modelling and simulation.
• Strong technical problem-solving, project coordination and team leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

• Analog/mixed-signal ASICs, sensor-interface circuits, MEMS readout or related signal-chain applications.
