Job summary

Holcim Trading & Shipping (HT&S) in Singapore seeks a Trading Operator to deliver seamless trade lifecycle support, from contract to cash, and to manage time-chartered vessel operations. You will execute trades, monitor performance, and optimize costs while ensuring data integrity in IMOS and SAP.

The role requires 3–5 years in trading/shipping logistics, proficiency in IMOS, laytime calculations, and knowledge of Charter Parties, Bills of Lading, and multmodal logistics.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Shipping/Maritime or Commercial degree in international trading, shipping, logistic, freight forwarding, or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in trading, shipping, freight forwarding, and supply chain logistics and operations; 2 years in related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of time-chartered vessels and ensure compliance with charter terms.
• Prepare voyage instructions and oversee commercial contracts to optimize voyage results.
• Support Chartering Managers with voyage estimates, freight simulations, and optimization.
• Coordinate with vessel owners on underperformance, off-hire, and technical issues.
• Organize on-hire/off-hire and marine cargo surveys.
• Monitor weather routing and analyze voyage performance.
• Coordinate supply chain schedules with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners.
• Ensure timely vessel nomination and acceptance with Chartering and Shipping teams.
• Manage shipping instructions, documentation, and inspections.
• Optimize cargo capacity through deadweight calculations.
• Review shipping documents and manage cargo-related claims.
• Maintain IMOS records for vessel delivery, bunker costs, and port fees.
• Coordinate month-end closing activities and financial reporting with Finance.
• Reconcile IMOS and SAP with accounting data; manage receivables/payables.
• Initiate cash-in and cash-out transactions with Finance.
• Coordinate port agent appointments via DIABOS; manage PDAs/FDAs.
• Review port disbursement accounts against history for cost control.
• Prepare operational reports and market intelligence for stakeholders.
