Job summary

sggovterp invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Hospitality. You will teach and lead the internship programme, bridging the institution with industry to provide high-quality local and overseas placements for students.

You will align curriculum delivery for PET and CET, supervise student projects, and oversee assessments and programme administration, ensuring safety and global exposure for learners.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, management and writing skills.
• Resourceful team player with trustworthiness, independence and proactive work ethic.
• Strong conceptual thinking with ability to problem solve and recommend solutions.
• Able to facilitate classroom discussions and mediate opinions.
• Able to analyse student results to intervene and improve performance.
• Digital literacy and ability to collaborate using digital tools.
• AI literacy including AI fundamentals, data science, NLP, ethics and prompt engineering.
• Teaching experience in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Events/Project Management, Hotel/Leisure or Restaurant/Culinary Management.

Responsibilities

• Foster a nurturing environment for students with pastoral care and guidance.
• Develop and review module curricula with engaging activities for PET and CET.
• Deliver lessons effectively with strong classroom management.
• Supervise students in projects and other curricular activities.
• Set, invigilate and grade assessments.
• Undertake administrative duties and academic affairs for a programme.
• Oversee end-to-end administration of the student internship programme.
• Establish clear assessment rubrics, compliance guidelines and evaluation frameworks for local and overseas internships.
• Conduct internship briefings, pre-departure orientations and post-internship debriefs.
• Manage student safety, welfare and crisis protocols, particularly for students abroad.
