Job summary

Republic Polytechnic in Singapore seeks a dynamic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Hospitality to teach and lead the student internship programme. You will bridge the institution and industry, coordinating high-quality local and overseas placements to provide students with robust, real-world experience and global perspectives.

You will shepherd curriculum development, deliver engaging lessons, and ensure effective assessment and pastoral support for students throughout their education

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, and writing skills.

• Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to facilitate classroom discussions and mediate opinions.
• Ability to analyze student results and implement interventions.
• Digital literacy and ability to collaborate using digital tools.
• AI literacy covering AI fundamentals, data science, AI tools and automation, NLP, AI ethics, and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Foster a nurturing environment for students through pastoral care and guidance in education and career journeys.
• Develop and review module curricula with engaging activities for PET and CET programs.
• Deliver lessons with effective class management and outcomes.
• Supervise students in projects and curricular activities.
• Set, invigilate, and grade assessments.
• Undertake administrative duties related to a programme.
• Oversee end-to-end administration of the student internship programme.
• Establish rubrics, guidelines, and evaluation frameworks for local and overseas internships.
• Conduct internship briefings, pre-departure orientations, and post-internship debriefs.
• Manage student safety, welfare, and crisis protocols, including overseas placements.
