Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Life Sciences/ Biomedical Science or equivalent preferred.
• Relevant experience in a Histology laboratory preferred.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process lab specimens; assign charge codes and reject unacceptable ones.
• Assist pathologist during trimming and evaluation of specimens.
• Perform embedding, microtomy, staining, mounting and labeling of slides.
• Run frozen cryo-sectioning as required.
• Maintain equipment and notify staff if malfunction occurs.
• Prepare reagents and stains per specifications.
• Record QA sheets and assist in inventory management.
• Support liver transplant and renal explant frozen sections as needed.
• Follow SOPs and Laboratory Safety Manual.
