Job summary

SPD Singapore is seeking a compassionate caregiver to provide person-centred care to clients in daily operations in our Singapore facility. You will monitor clients during treatment to ensure safety and assist with activities of daily living, including toileting and catheter care when needed.

You will also help prepare clients and therapy equipment, support therapy sessions, and maintain a clean, secure environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Secondary education or equivalent.
• WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care) or other relevant certificate preferred.
• A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with clients and caregivers from diverse backgrounds; proficiency in additional languages or dialects relevant to client needs will be an advantage.
• Prior experience in caring for clients with dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred model of care in daily operations.
• Monitor clients during treatment to ensure their safety.
• Assist clients in Activities of Daily Living (ADL), such as toileting and catheter care as required.
• Assist clients with other nursing care or first aid (e.g., wound dressing).
• Prepare clients and therapy equipment prior to therapy sessions.
• Support or conduct routine exercises/group therapy/activities as formatted by the therapists.
• Ensure proper donning and doffing of prosthetics or orthotics when necessary.
• Maintain and report on safety and equipment functioning to therapists.
• Keep the department clean, organized, and securely closed at end of day.
• Collaborate with volunteers supporting client activities/sessions.
• Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, in-service and caregiver support programmes.
