Responsibilities

• Supports Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses in delivering nursing care.
• Maintains safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Records residents' vital signs accurately and timely.
• Provides personal care and maintains residents' hygiene.
• Assists with transfer, mobility, and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
• Assists residents in daily exercise and mobility activities.
• Assists in serving meals and drinks and feeding when required.
• Documents care provided promptly and accurately.
• Alerts nurses to emergencies or changes in residents' conditions.
• Collaborates with nurses to ensure safe nursing home care.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Healthcare Assistant supports and assists Registered Nurses (RN) and Enrolled Nurses (EN) in the delivery of nursing care to residents, while helping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Complying with approved standards of nursing practice and organisational policies.
• Participating in quality improvement activities to enhance resident care.
• Attending to residents' needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being, and reporting any changes or concerns to the nurse.
• Checking, monitoring, and accurately recording residents' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Providing personal care and maintaining residents' hygiene, including bed baths/shower baths, changing of clothing and bed linen, and keeping residents clean and dry.
• Assisting with the transfer, mobilization, and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
• Supporting residents in daily exercise and mobility activities.
• Assisting in serving meals and drinks, including feeding residents when required.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
• Assisting nurses in nursing care procedures, such as care of residents with urinary catheters.
• Accompanying residents during outings and external activities.
• Promptly alerting nurses to emergencies or changes in residents' conditions.
• Working collaboratively with nurses to maintain a safe, clean, and conducive environment within the nursing home.
• Carrying out any other duties as assigned by Nurses, Senior/Nurse Clinicians, the Director of Nursing (DON), or the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Requirements:

• GCE N Level / Nursing Aide Course (from home country)
• Attained training in either one of the courses:
• WSQ Higher Certificate / Advanced Certificate / in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care)
• Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Approved Training Centre (ATC) Healthcare (Home Care) programme
