Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 8+ years in engineering leadership managing regional or multi-squad teams.
• Strong design, SQL, data modeling, Java, Python, microservices, and cloud (Azure).
• Excellent executive presence and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience leading distributed onshore/offshore engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regional engineering squads across Singapore and offshore hubs delivering critical enterprise applications (payments, claims, servicing).
• Define long term architectural strategy, target state frameworks, and data models across Java, Python, microservices, and cloud environments.
• Act as the main technology partner to business executives, translating requirements into scalable tech deliverables.
• Drive engineering standards, system performance, data governance, and operational reliability across all squads.
• Mentor squad leads and engineering managers to develop stronger business communication and leadership capabilities within the team.

We are partnered with an established financial institution expanding its regional digital and data engineering capabilities. They are seeking a proven engineering leader to direct software delivery squads, shape overall application architecture, and drive digital platform strategies across the region.

Overview

This leadership position owns the technical roadmap for core regional application platforms. You will lead multi location engineering squads, establish modern software engineering practices, and bridge the gap between complex engineering systems and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee regional engineering squads across Singapore and offshore hubs delivering critical enterprise applications including payments, claims, and servicing platforms.
• Define long term architectural strategy, target state frameworks, and data models across Java, Python, microservices, and cloud environments.
• Act as the main technology partner to business executives, translating business requirements into scalable tech deliverables.
• Drive engineering standards, system performance, data governance, and operational reliability across all squads.
• Mentor squad leads and engineering managers to develop stronger business communication and leadership capabilities within the team.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 15 or more years of experience in software engineering, with at least 8 years in engineering leadership managing regional or multi squad teams.
• Strong technical background in systems design, SQL, data modeling, Java, Python, microservices, and cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Excellent executive presence, stakeholder engagement, and business articulation skills.
• Experience managing distributed engineering teams across onshore and offshore locations.
