Jobtailor in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee data centre builds, fit-outs, and upgrades from inception to handover to operations.

You will manage budgets and schedules, review documents, and lead safety, quality, and risk controls while collaborating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Proven experience as construction or project manager/director, preferably with data centre projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices
  • Familiarity with data centre design, infrastructure, and MEP systems
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
  • Understanding of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction of data centre facilities from inception through handover to operations
  • Develop and monitor budgets and schedules, track progress and expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Define project goals, objectives, and performance criteria
  • Oversee design development, procurement, construction, and closeout
  • Select and negotiate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and suppliers
  • Monitor site progress and compliance with safety protocols and quality standards
  • Review and approve construction documents, change orders, payment applications, invoices, and project documentation
  • Manage financial project controls and maintain accurate reporting
  • Manage project risks, prepare mitigation plans, report impact events, and elevate risks
  • Serve as primary point of contact for operations and customers, providing project updates and managing expectations
  • Establish governance, communication, and reporting structures with senior and country stakeholders
  • Partner with the Design Manager to deliver data centre capacity aligned with business strategy
  • Implement quality control procedures, conduct inspections and audits, and resolve construction issues or deficiencies

Job description

Implement and enforce a robust safety culture with the Health and Safety Manager
Manage construction from inception through completion and handover to operations
