OpenAI, Inc. seeks a Hardware Engineer for the Consumer Products team in Singapore. You will design and integrate complex hardware systems for AI-driven devices, translating concepts into mass-produced products.

This role offers a hybrid work model with four days in the office and relocation support for new hires. You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software domains to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality devices that bring AI closer to people.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in consumer hardware or advanced product development.
• Fluency across mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
• Experience taking at least one consumer product from concept to mass production.
• Hands-on problem solving in fast-paced environments.
• Strong collaboration and user-experience mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and validate subsystems from development through mass production.
• Collaborate with design, operations, and manufacturing to ensure quality and scalability.
• Drive DFx reviews, design iterations, and bring-up of prototypes and pilot builds.
• Debug system-level issues and lead root-cause investigations.
• Partner with global suppliers to ensure flawless execution from concept to launch.
