Job summary

Silith in Singapore is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop and verify silicon photonics hardware systems, including high-speed signal chains and control circuits. You will work on chips, optical engines, evaluation boards and reference designs to ensure robust performance.

Qualified candidates have a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, strong lab skills in analog/digital circuits, and experience with high-frequency design and evaluation hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in analog/digital circuits and hands-on lab skills.
• Knowledge of high-frequency circuits, transmission lines and signal integrity.
• Experience with evaluation boards or related hardware is preferred, plus good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and verify silicon photonics hardware systems including high-speed and control circuits.
• Support hardware design for chips, optical engines, evaluation boards and module reference designs.
• Assist with design and verification of high-speed interfaces (SerDes, drivers, DSP/FPGA).
• Prepare hardware design documents, BOMs and test reports; coordinate with suppliers on components.

Job description

The Hardware Engineer is responsible for the design, development, debugging, and verification of silicon photonics hardware systems. This role involves supporting hardware design across chips, optical engines, evaluation boards, and optical modules, while ensuring high-speed signal integrity and seamless integration with advanced circuits.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, development, debugging and verification of silicon photonics hardware systems, including high-speed, power, sampling and control circuits;
• Support hardware design for silicon photonics chips, optical engines, evaluation boards and optical module reference designs, including schematic design, PCB layout coordination and hardware debugging;
• Assist with the design and verification of high-speed signal chains and interface circuits involving SerDes, TIA, drivers, CDR, DSP, MCU or FPGA;
• Prepare hardware design documents, BOMs, test reports and debugging records, and work with suppliers on component selection, sample validation and engineering issue resolution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation, Physics or a related discipline;
• Solid foundation in analog and digital circuits, with good hands-on laboratory skills;
• Knowledge of high-frequency circuits, transmission lines, signal integrity and common hardware interfaces is preferred;
• Project experience involving evaluation boards, optical modules or related hardware is preferred, together with good analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
