Job summary

Sembcorp Utilities in Singapore seeks a Senior Tech Lead to design, deliver, and continuously improve secure, scalable full-stack applications and microservices. You will guide an internal engineering team with primary delivery on Microsoft Azure, while collaborating with adjacent platforms and data teams.

You will also design AI-enabled workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and platform integration patterns, with strong emphasis on security, observability, and operational excellence across enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Full Stack Engineer role delivering enterprise-grade software.
• Experience designing and deploying microservices architectures in large-scale environments.
• Experience deploying on Microsoft Azure with CI/CD pipelines, integration services, and container deployments.
• Experience deploying AI agents or intelligent automation in production or near-production.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Databricks.
• Strong English written and spoken communication.

• Design, deploy, and optimise microservices architectures and API integrations.

• Oversee lifecycle management, production support, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.

Purpose and Scope

Lead the design, delivery, andcontinuous improvement of secure, scalable full-stack applications,microservices, cloud-native solutions, and AI-enabled capabilities for GroupCorporate digital initiatives. Guide a team of internal engineering team withprimary delivery on Microsoft Azure while remaining adaptable to adjacententerprise platforms, integration technologies, and evolving multi-platformsolution needs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Define technical architecture standards, engineeringguardrails, and solution design patterns to ensure quality, scalability,security, maintainability, resilience, and performance across enterpriseplatforms.
• Design, deploy, and optimise microservicesarchitectures, including service decomposition, API integration, event-drivenpatterns, observability, and fault-tolerant distributed system practices.
• Lead and mentor software engineering teams, coordinatedelivery plans, review code, and build technical capability across full-stackdevelopment, DevOps, and cloud engineering practices.
• Design, deploy, and optimise AI agents and intelligentworkflow solutions integrated with enterprise applications, data platforms, andbusiness processes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, source controlstandards, release workflows, infrastructure automation, and environmentmanagement using Azure DevOps and related tooling.
• Collaborate with product, business, data,cybersecurity, and infrastructure stakeholders to translate businessrequirements into solution architectures, delivery roadmaps, and implementationplans.
• Integrate applications with Azure services such asmessaging, data platforms, and analytics environments including MicrosoftFabric or Databricks where applicable.
• Oversee application lifecycle management, productionsupport, incident resolution, technical risk mitigation, and continuousimprovement of development, deployment, and operational practices.
• Contribute hands-on to software engineering tasksincluding backend services, frontend components, API development, automatedtesting, deployment automation, and technical documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, SoftwareEngineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalentpractical experience.
• Proven experience in a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, orSenior Full Stack Engineer role delivering enterprise-grade software solutions.
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, andsupporting microservices architecture in enterprise or large-scale digitalenvironments.
• Experience designing and deploying solutions onMicrosoft Azure, including source repositories, CI/CD pipelines, integrationservices, and container-based deployment approaches.
• Experience deploying AI agents, intelligent automation,or applied AI solutions in production or near-production environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms such asMicrosoft Fabric or Databricks.
• Working knowledge of Python for automation, AIintegration, data processing, or backend services is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience leading software engineeringteams, conducting code reviews, and driving delivery outcomes across multipleworkstreams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture,distributed systems, API design, cloud security, DevOps, testing strategy,observability, and operational support practices.
• Ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders,communicate technical concepts clearly, and balance strategic leadership withhands-on delivery.
• Industry-standard certifications are advantageous,including Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified:Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI EngineerAssociate, Azure Fundamentals, Kubernetes-related certifications, AWS CertifiedMachine Learning - Specialty, Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer, orcomparable cloud, AI deployment, and solution architecture certifications.
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency isrequired to perform the role, including documentation, stakeholdercommunication, and collaboration across business and technical teams.
