About the Role

We are looking for a Group Accounting Technical Senior to support our financial governance and accounting excellence across global operations across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting directly to the Group Accounting Technical Manager, you will work closely alongside an experienced technical lead rather than operate in isolation, giving you strong guidance and mentorship as you develop in the role. This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, financial controls, and business transformation, requiring someone who can navigate complex IFRS matters while partnering closely with Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams. You will play a key role in supporting the development of robust accounting policies, strengthening SOX controls, and supporting the launch of new financial products in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Accounting & Policy Development: Support technical accounting research and prepare accounting position papers under IFRS for complex transactions, new business initiatives, and emerging accounting topics. Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies that support consistent application across the organisation.
• SOX & Internal Controls Excellence: Support and continuously enhance the SOX and internal controls framework, contributing to control design, testing, remediation activities, and governance processes to strengthen financial reporting integrity and operational effectiveness.
• Cross-Jurisdiction Financial Governance: Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams across multiple jurisdictions to ensure accounting treatment, operational processes, and regulatory requirements are aligned for new products, business initiatives, and evolving regulatory changes.
• Business Advisory & Product Support: Assess the accounting implications of new fintech, brokerage, and crypto-adjacent products, providing practical technical guidance that supports business growth while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory expectations.
• Financial Systems & Process Improvement: Assist the manager in overseeing financial systems migration and the roll-out of accounting best practices, supporting implementation activities, data integrity reviews, and process enhancements.
• Training & Knowledge Sharing: Design regular training sessions for the finance team, developing content that addresses changes in SOPs and accounting policies as well as common errors and issues noted during reviews. Lead onboarding training for new joiners, including the preparation and continuous refinement of training SOPs to ensure a consistent and structured induction experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience & Background: Minimum 5 full years of Big 4 audit experience, with 5 to 7 years of relevant finance experience preferred; no prior commercial experience necessary. Exposure to financial services, fintech, brokerage, capital markets, or related regulated industries is highly preferred.
• Technical Accounting & Controls Expertise: Strong working knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and SOX/internal controls frameworks, with proven experience researching complex accounting issues, drafting technical accounting papers, and supporting robust governance processes.
• Business Partnership & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with verbal proficiency in Chinese for ease of communication with regional stakeholders. Able to prepare clear technical accounting memoranda and collaborate effectively with Finance, Operations, Compliance, and business teams across multiple jurisdictions.
• Problem Solving & Learning Agility: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing business priorities. Demonstrates sound judgement, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to solving complex accounting and operational challenges.
• Education & Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent is required. Willingness to travel periodically to support regional business initiatives is expected.
