Job summary

direct search asia pte. ltd. is seeking a senior marine projects engineer to plan and execute green retrofit projects focused on BWTS, scrubbers, and EEXI compliance.

You will collaborate with ship managers, engineers, and class directors during planning, implementation and commissioning. The role requires providing technical guidance on regulatory impacts, coordinating with 3rd party vendors, and ensuring safety and quality in all phases of retrofit projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper planning and timely execution of Green project(s).
• Efficient and effective implementation of project initiative(s): installation, training, system evaluation and improvements.
• Collaborate with Chief Engineers, Ship Managers, Makers and Class Directors in project planning, implementation, and execution phases.
• Provide expertise in BWTS/scrubber/EEXI/ESD/Decarbonisation technology and regulatory impact.
• Define specifications for 3rd party vendors and establish QC criteria.
• Manage 3rd party vendors for retrofit engineering of exhaust gas scrubbers.
• Evaluate Structural Analysis, Loading Calculations, pressure-drop/friction loss calculations, and drawings.
• Respond to Classification comments to expedite design approval.
• Study scope of work, overall project schedule, basic/detail design data, client specifications, drawings and plot plan.
• Oversee performance of engineering firms to ensure quality for retrofit projects.
• Provide due diligence in investigating BWTS, EEXI, ESD and Decarbonization technology solutions.
• Participate in supervision of installation and commissioning review upon project completion.
• Input to annual planning and budgeting for Green projects; monitor budget with Energy and Class Directors.
• Always prioritize safety and health per company policy; meet EHS requirements.
• Any other tasks as assigned by Dept. Manager.
