Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore (ANGEL lab) seeks an outstanding Research Scientist – Green AI to advance efficient, sustainable AI technologies. The role focuses on developing scalable algorithms and systems for energy-efficient foundation models and large language models (LLMs).

You will publish in top AI venues, collaborate across disciplines, mentor researchers, and contribute to strategic initiatives. A PhD and strong publications are expected; you will work at NTU's ANGEL lab.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, ML, NLP or closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, Efficient Deep Learning, AI Model Optimization.
• Research experience in Green AI, sustainable computing, or energy-efficient ML.
• Excellent publication records in reputable journals/conferences.
• Strong programming skills in Python and modern AI frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences and/or journals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on Green AI technologies, including efficient training and inference of foundation models and LLMs.
• Develop scalable AI systems for deployment of foundation models on resource-constrained platforms.
• Develop AI technologies that contribute to sustainability applications.
• Publish research findings in leading AI conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with internal and external research partners to deliver innovative Green AI solutions.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to research proposal development and strategic initiatives.
