Job summary

Singapore Island Country Club is seeking an experienced leader to oversee daily Golfing Department operations at Island and Bukit locations. You will plan manpower, train staff, manage budgets, and direct coordination to ensure a smooth, positive golfing experience for members.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Golf Operations at Island and Bukit locations – golf operations, management system, buggy management, procurement and tender exercises as needed.
• Engage and resolve members’ complaints on golf-related matters via email, phone, WhatsApp etc.
• Review and update SOPs to improve golfing experience for members.
• Collaborate with golf department to ensure events, corporate days, and tournaments are well managed and coordinated.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of annual golf operations expenses.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and training to maintain competent, complaint-free operation.
• Communicate club rules, byelaws, and latest measures to the team.
• Set performance targets and align staff goals with corporate objectives.
• Develop staff training plans to enable starters and marshals to perform effectively.
• Conduct staff appraisals and performance reviews.

Job Functions & Summary:

Responsible for the management of the daily operations for the Golfing Department at both Island and Bukit location through manpower planning and training, budgeting, directing and coordinating in order to ensure a smooth and positive experience for the golfers.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage the Golf Operations at Island and Bukit location – all golf operations, golf management system, buggy management, procurement and tender exercise as and when tasked.
• Engage and resolve members’ complaints on all golf-related matters including replying to members via email, phone, WhatsApp etc. Check, confirm and mediate dangerous play and compile the report for escalation when it is required.
• Review all Standard Operating Procedures on all operational procedures from time to time and execute revised SOP so as to bring better golfing experience to the members.
• To work in collaboration within golf department to ensure seamless execution with all Clubs’ events, and all corporate days/private tournaments are well managed and coordinated.
• Assist in the preparation, monitoring and forecasting of annual budget and expenses for the golf operations.
• Conduct regular meetings and trainings to build a competent team and a complaint free operation.
• Ensure all information like club rules and byelaws, latest measures or policies, news etc. are communicated to the team so that they are duly informed and can carry out their work on the grounds well informed.
• Communicate performance targets to the staff to ensure that their goals and objectives are aligned to the corporate objectives.
• Identify and develop a comprehensive staff training and development plan to enable staff (Starters and Marshals) to perform their roles effectively.
• Conduct staff appraisal and performance review for the staff
• Keep records of annual golf activities, lapses, slow play and dangerous play.
• Coordinate and ensure the Golf Ability Tests and Golf Course Capability Test are conducted in accordance with the standards.
• Familiar and well versed with the Club’s Rules and Bye-Laws.
• Attend Greens Committee meetings, and Handicap Committee meetings, Junior Golf Committee meetings and any other Committee or Club meetings as directed by the Management.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
