Job summary
LALCO Trading pte ltd in Singapore is seeking a Trade Finance Associate to process and settle documentary trade and LC transactions. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and international trade finance rules while supporting the company's global commodity trading operations.
Based at our Great World City office, you will coordinate with Trading, Logistics, Finance and Compliance to drive accurate document handling, bank instructions, and timely settlement, while building
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of hands-on trade finance experience with physical commodities.
- Strong knowledge of LCs, documentary credits, UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522 and Incoterms 2020.
- Ability to examine shipping documents and manage settlement.
- Understanding of sanctions, AML/CFT and trade-based money laundering risks.
- Experience designing workflows and systems in CTRM/ERP environments.
- Proficient Excel skills and familiarity with banking portals.
Responsibilities
- Process and settle documentary trade transactions, including import/export LCs and collections.
- Handle transferable and back-to-back LC structures and related financing.
- Review contracts and translate terms into bank applications, documentary requirements and settlement actions.
- Prepare and submit bank instructions and coordinate with Trading, Logistics, Finance, counterparties and banks.
- Maintain maturity, acceptance and payment trackers; escalate delays and discrepancies.
