Job summary

A leading bank in Singapore is seeking a Trade Operations Analyst to join its Trade Services team at Marina Bay. You will handle export Letters of Credit (LC), advising, amendments and confirmations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing. You will collaborate with issuing banks, correspondent banks, beneficiaries and internal teams.

This role offers a 6-month contract with renewal/conversion possibilities and a pathway to longer-term opportunities for the right performer.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Banking, Finance, Business or a related field.
• Experience in trade finance operations, especially Letters of Credit, is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with a strong interest in trade finance are welcome to apply.
• Knowledge of SWIFT messages and ICC rules (UCP 600) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills, able to liaise with banks, customers and internal teams.
• Able to manage turnaround times and follow up on outstanding cases.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Handle LC advising, re-advising and amendment advising accurately and within the required turnaround time.
• Review incoming authenticated SWIFT messages and LC or amendment terms for completeness before advising them to beneficiaries or other banks.
• Perform sanction, compliance and internal control checks, and obtain the required clearances before releasing an LC or amendment.
• Verify beneficiary details and choose the right advising channel, either direct to the customer or through another bank.
• Handle LC confirmation requests, including approvals, charges and related correspondence.
• Work with issuing banks, correspondent banks, beneficiaries and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, missing information or operational issues quickly.
• Process LC-related SWIFT messages and correspondence, including amendment requests, clarifications and follow-ups.
• Make sure transactions follow ICC rules, internal policies, operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor outstanding cases and follow up proactively to avoid processing delays.
• Keep proper records, filing and safekeeping of documents, with controls so nothing is misplaced or missed.
