Job summary

Mitsubishi Corporation RtM International PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Thermal Coal trading professional to execute trading activities, develop strategies with MC Tokyo stakeholders, and liaise across regions. The role emphasizes strong negotiation, risk awareness and cross-functional collaboration.

You will support management with market analysis, develop commercial actions, and build robust relationships with suppliers in Japan and other markets. Fluency in English and Japanese is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years in physical bulk commodities trading.
• 4+ years in Thermal Coal or bulk commodities.
• Business English and Japanese fluency.
• Understanding of trade documents (B/L, L/C).
• Experience contributing to strategy development.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of tax, insurance, AEO compliance.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and trade systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute Thermal Coal trading activities and strategies.
• Support Global Head, Coal with proposals and strategy papers.
• Communicate and promote trading strategies across Coal Division & regions.
• Review and update trading strategies annually or as needed.
• Prepare market condition reports for management and stakeholders.
• Support achievement of business, operational and financial objectives.
• Build relationships with suppliers/parties in Japan and other markets.
• Participate in meetings and industry events; travel as required.
• Collaborate with regional offices and internal stakeholders (risk, legal, tax).
