Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Singapore to provide technical support for PVD equipment at customer sites. You will coordinate installation, operation, calibration, and testing of hardware and software, and act as the primary liaison between customers and engineering teams across regions.

You will diagnose complex issues, communicate clearly with customers, and support ECO reviews and data-driven improvements. Travel up to 60% across Asia is required.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering education qualification is required.
• PVD equipment experience is highly preferred, especially for field/customer support roles.
• Must be able to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across regions.
• Strong communication with customers and internal teams; ability to work in cleanroom/lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide all technical support at a specific customer site: escalations, fleet performance, installations, and upgrades.
• Act as the main liaison between customer and engineering divisions; document issues and coordinate field repairs.
• Support engineering teams with installation, operation, calibration, testing on hardware/software, at customer sites or in-house.
• Lead ECO reviews to ensure data supports fixes and communicate results to field teams.
• Generate system performance data (MTBF, MTBI, Availability) and present findings to customers.
• Create and review technical documentation; support plans and discuss improvements with customers.
