Airwallex in Singapore is hiring a Senior Manager, Payroll Tax to own the global payroll tax strategy and operating framework. You will be the subject matter expert across multiple jurisdictions, partnering with Global Payroll, HRIS, Legal and Finance to ensure accurate, compliant payroll tax processing and reporting.

You will lead governance, audits and process improvements, leveraging data analytics to identify risks and automation opportunities in a fast-growing tech company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, HR or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in payroll tax, employment tax, global mobility tax or related field.
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll withholding, employer social security, benefits-in-kind and equity compensation.
• Experience managing payroll vendors and partnering with HRIS, payroll and finance teams.
• Strong understanding of payroll reconciliations, controls, year-end reporting and statutory filings.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and project-management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex legislation and communicate practical recommendations.

Responsabilités

• Own Airwallex’s global payroll tax strategy and operating framework across entities and jurisdictions.
• Establish standards for payroll tax governance, ownership, controls, documentation and audit readiness.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting employment tax and payroll reporting.
• Partner with Global Payroll to ensure accurate processing, tax calculations, reconciliations and year-end reporting.
• Oversee payroll tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions including income tax and social security.
• Review payroll registers, tax calculations and reconciliations to resolve discrepancies before deadlines.
• Advise on payroll tax implications for new hires, terminations, bonuses and equity rewards.
• Provide SME on benefits-in-kind valuation, withholding and reporting requirements.
• Oversee tax treatment of equity arrangements (RSUs/ESOPs) and related reporting.
• Collaborate with Legal and People on new entity launches and market entries.
• Manage payroll tax audits and external advisers for timely output.
• Drive standardisation of payroll elements and tax reporting across regions.
• Identify opportunities to automate calculations and improve processes.
• Communicate complex tax matters clearly to senior stakeholders.
