Job summary

PayerMax, a leading fintech company headquartered in Singapore, is seeking an experienced backend engineer for its Global Payments Engineering team. You will design scalable payment infrastructure and localization capabilities to support cross-border expansion.

Work with regional product, business, and compliance teams, integrate with global payment partners, and drive cross-time-zone collaboration to deliver high-quality solutions. Strong English and ownership mindset required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend software engineering experience, preferably in payments/fintech, or banking.
• Excellent communication and collaboration, fluent English, capable of working with cross-functional and overseas teams.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality technical solutions with ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver payment capabilities for global expansion across markets.
• Build localization solutions for regional payment methods, settlement, and compliance.
• Continuously improve platform scalability, reliability, and engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with regional Product, Business, and Compliance teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Integrate with overseas payment partners, banks, and financial institutions.
• Drive cross-regional project delivery with distributed teams across time zones.
• Participate in architecture reviews and engineering best practices.
• Improve engineering quality through automation and observability.
• Continuously optimize system performance and developer productivity.
