Job summary

Dyson Institute is seeking a Head of Technical Security to lead strategy, design and governance of global physical security technology across sites. You will oversee access control, CCTV, alarms, monitoring platforms and related tech, ensuring resilience and regulatory alignment.

You will partner with Security, IT and Facilities, manage projects, set standards and drive continuous improvement in security technology and incident response.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in physical security technology and security systems across multi-site or global environments.
• Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, video management, alarm monitoring and integration capabilities.
• Experience leading technology projects, managing suppliers and delivering security systems.
• Understanding of risk assessment, system resilience, data protection, privacy and cyber-physical convergence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the security systems technology strategy, roadmap and standards.
• Lead design, deployment, lifecycle management and optimisation of physical security systems across sites.
• Define technical standards, specifications and operating requirements for security tech.
• Partner with Security, IT, Facilities and Legal to ensure integrated, compliant security tech.
• Oversee security technology projects from concept to delivery and benefits realisation.
• Ensure security systems are maintained, patched, tested and resilient with SLAs.
• Provide technical leadership during incidents, audits and crisis response.
• Establish metrics and assurance activities to assess system effectiveness.
• Manage external suppliers and technology partners to meet expectations.
• Identify emerging technologies and innovation opportunities for security capability.
