Job summary

TikTok is seeking engineers to join the Search Architecture Team responsible for designing and building the global e-commerce search system. You will ensure stability, scalability and availability while delivering high-quality search capabilities to partners.

The role emphasizes architecture, performance optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of search tech and machine learning workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in programming with C, C++, Java or Golang.
• Solid programming ability and good design and code style.
• Effective communication skills and ownership.
• Experience in at least one area: recommendations, search, ML, distributed storage, or big data frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the global e-commerce search system architecture and optimize it for scale and availability.
• Design and develop core search capabilities and provide high-quality content to partners.
• Focus on architecture abstraction and optimization for search scenarios and ML workloads.
• Improve system stability and performance for high-concurrency, high-throughput environments.
• Research and develop core components and new technologies.
• Analyze user needs and translate into software solutions.
• Update and test software, validate new features and enhancements.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate HW and SW and define performance requirements.
