Job summary

Direct Search Global in Singapore seeks an experienced Coffee Trader to develop green-coffee trading activities and nurture relations with suppliers and customers across regional markets. You will source Arabica and Robusta coffee, negotiate physical contracts, manage trading positions, and coordinate with quality, logistics and finance teams to optimize margins and risk controls.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in physical coffee trading, strong negotiation, market analysis, and familiarity

Qualifications

Degree in business, economics, finance, agriculture or related field.
At least 3 years of physical coffee trading or green-coffee merchandising experience.
Strong understanding of Arabica and Robusta fundamentals and pricing differentials.
Experience negotiating physical coffee contracts and managing trade execution.
Knowledge of coffee futures, hedging and trading-risk management.

Responsibilities

Source and trade Arabica and Robusta green coffee to meet customer requirements and objectives.
Develop relationships with origin suppliers, exporters, roasters and trading counterparties.
Identify new customers and grow business within assigned markets.
Negotiate pricing, quality specifications, shipment periods and payment terms.
Analyse crop developments, weather, origin availability and global coffee demand.
Monitor futures prices and physical differentials to identify trading opportunities.
Manage physical positions and hedging within approved risk limits.
Track trading margins, market exposure and contract performance.
Coordinate with operations for timely shipments and documentation.
Liaise with Finance and Credit on counterparty limits and receivables.
