Job summary

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) invites a motivated intern to help enhance the High-Resolution Map (HRMap). You will develop methods to automate discovery and collection of public geospatial data, review HRMap layers, and identify datasets for continuous monitoring such as new buildings and MRT stations.

You will prototype workflows using web scraping, data extraction, and AI/LLM techniques to capture change signals, validate outputs, and document methodologies for HRMap integration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing tertiary qualifications in CS, DS, AI, IS, or geomatics.
• Basic programming skills in Python.
• Interest in web scraping and geospatial technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Initiative to seek feedback and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Review HRMap datasets to identify candidates for automated change detection.
• Develop web crawling and data extraction workflows from public information sources.
• Apply AI/LLMs to extract structured geospatial change information from unstructured text.
• Design and prototype logic for detecting building and infrastructure changes.
• Validate extracted data and prepare structured outputs for HRMap integration.
• Document workflows, methodologies and findings.
