Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-drivenGeneral Managerto oversee the overall operations and strategic direction of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, managing financial performance, developing client relationships, and leading a team of managers and operational staff.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the company’s business strategies and growth plans.


• Identify new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives.


• Establish operational goals, budgets, and performance targets.


• Report directly to the Directors on business performance and strategic initiatives.

Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of all cleaning and facilities management contracts.


• Ensure contractual obligations and service standards are consistently achieved.


• Improve operational efficiency and productivity across all projects.


• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


• Monitor manpower deployment, scheduling, equipment utilisation, and resource planning.

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.


• Conduct regular client meetings and service reviews.


• Resolve escalated operational issues and customer complaints promptly.


• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and contract retention.

Financial Management

• Prepare annual budgets and monitor financial performance.


• Manage revenue, profitability, operational costs, and cash flow.


• Review pricing strategies, quotations, tenders, and major contracts.


• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective measures where necessary.

Business Development

• Lead tender submissions and contract negotiations.


• Identify opportunities for new contracts and strategic partnerships.


• Work closely with the sales and marketing team to increase market share.


• Develop long-term client retention strategies.

Human Resource Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and supervisors.


• Ensure sufficient manpower planning and recruitment.


• Promote employee engagement, productivity, and professional development.


• Maintain a positive and high-performance workplace culture.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all Singapore regulations including MOM, NEA, Workplace Safety & Health (WSH), and other relevant statutory requirements.


• Maintain company certifications and quality management systems.


• Promote workplace safety and environmental sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.


• Minimum 8–10 years of senior management experience, preferably within the cleaning, facilities management, property management, or environmental services industry.


• Proven experience managing large operational teams and multiple service contracts.


• Strong financial and commercial acumen.


• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


• Demonstrated experience in tender management and business development.


• Strong problem-solving and decision‑making abilities.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.


• Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence (preferred).

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing cleaning operations for commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare institutions, educational institutions, or government agencies.


• Familiarity with NEA cleaning standards, BizSAFE requirements, and ISO management systems.


• Experience managing unionised or large blue‑collar workforces.
