Fundraising Manager – Major Gifts

Job summary

Dover Park Hospice seeks a Fundraising Manager, Major Gifts to grow sustainable philanthropic income and build long-term relationships with high net worth individuals, family offices and foundations.

You will lead the major gifts pipeline from prospect identification through solicitation and stewardship, collaborating with senior management, Board members and programme teams to develop compelling funding opportunities that align donor interests with our mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• At least 5 years of major gifts fundraising or related experience
• Proven experience managing major donor portfolios and securing significant gifts
• Strong relationship building, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
• Confident engaging HNWIs, family offices, foundations and senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to translate priorities into funding opportunities
• Experience with donor CRM systems such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge would be an advantage
• High integrity, discretion, resilience and results orientation
• CFRE or relevant fundraising qualification would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the major gifts fundraising strategy and achieve income targets
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of major donors and philanthropic prospects
• Identify, cultivate and develop relationships with HNWIs, family offices, foundations and other strategic partners
• Develop compelling funding proposals, cases for support and major gift opportunities
• Lead donor engagement, solicitation, negotiations and stewardship to secure significant and multi-year gifts
• Strengthen donor retention and identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships
• Work closely with senior leaders and programme teams to develop funding opportunities and communicate impact
• Monitor fundraising performance, pipeline health and income forecasts
• Ensure appropriate donor due diligence, CRM management and compliance with fundraising policies and regulations

You will lead the major gifts pipeline from prospect identification and cultivation through solicitation and stewardship, working closely with senior management, Board members and programme teams to develop compelling funding opportunities that align donor interests with our mission and strategic priorities.
