Job description

About Candid Capital Management

Candid Capital Management Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based, CMS licensed fund manager investing across listed and private markets globally. Our established business spans Equities, Commodities, Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange, drawing on proprietary, in-house methods to identify price dislocations, with risk management built to deliver consistent risk-reward outcomes across market cycles.

Candid Capital is building a new private equity platform. This role sits at the centre of that effort, giving the new hire the opportunity to shape fund operations for our PE business while benefiting from the infrastructure and support of an established multi-asset manager.

The Role

We are looking for a Fund Accounting and Operations Associate to report into the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support the day-to-day operations of our private equity funds. You will own end-to-end processes that keep our funds running, including capital calls, distributions, NAV cycles, investor reporting, fund and administrator liaison. At year end you will work with our fund administrator to prepare annual financial statements, build out audit lead schedules, and work through queries with the auditors, tax agents and the fund administrator. Because the PE platform is being built now, you will also help set it up properly from the start, including the chart of accounts, the accounting policies applied across fund and SPV entities, the reconciliation and close calendar, and the review controls that sit around the administrator's deliverables.

The role also gives you room to build financial modelling and valuation skills, so you can move deeper into fund performance and portfolio analysis over time. This will suit someone with two years in fund operations, fund accounting or fund administration, and wants broader exposure than a traditional back-office role in a larger firm allows.

  • Support the annual audit and tax filings, working with auditors, tax agents and the administrator
  • Produce and review the quarterly NAV pack, partners' capital allocations and capital account statements, and investigate movements before sign-off

  • Maintain investment cost basis, and account for acquisitions, follow-on funding, revaluations, realised and unrealised, gains, and exits
  • Prepare annual financial statements under Singapore FRS and IFRS, together with the supporting notes and audit lead schedules
  • Support the annual audit and tax filings, working with auditors, tax agents and the fund administrator
Fund Operations
  • Prepare and execute capital call and distribution notices, including allocation workings across LPs, and track drawdown and recallable capital positions
  • Coordinate with the fund administrator on NAV reports, capital account statements and allocations, and review deliverables before these reports are sent to investors and other stakeholders
  • Process and monitor cash movements, FX conversions, expense payments and inter-entity funding across fund, SPV and management company accounts
  • Maintain fund and SPV records: subscription documents, side letters, constitutional documents, bank mandates and signatory lists
Investor Reporting & Relations Support
  • Assemble investor reports, capital account statements and to handle ad-hoc investor queries and data requests
  • Support the investor onboarding process, including KYC/AML documentation collection, screening and periodic reviews inline with MAS requirements

Valuation & Portfolio Analysis
  • Assist with portfolio company valuations, including the process of gathering financials, updating comparable company and DCF workings, and documenting valuation rationale
  • Maintain fund-level performance metrics (IRR,MOIC, DPI, TVPI) and track them against fund models and thresholds set out in the fund mandate
Compliance& Controls
  • Support MAS, licensing or regulatory filings and obligations applicable to the fund manager
  • Help build and improve operating procedures and controls as the platform grows
