Job summary

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and carry out instructional activities that promote active learning experiences.
• Establish and convey clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classroom for class activities.
• Identify and select a variety of instructional resources and methods to cater to students’ varying needs.
• Use relevant technology to support instruction.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development.
• Set different forms of assessments such as quizzes, tests and examinations.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of students’ progress and development.
• Prepare reports on students and activities.
• Manage student behaviour in the classroom appropriately.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the disciplinary system of the school.
• Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
• Perform certain pastoral duties such as student support and counseling.
• Communicate necessary information frequently to students, colleagues and parents pertaining to student progress and student needs.
• Keep updated with subject area, teaching resources and methodologies and make pertinent changes to instructional plans and activities.
• Conduct remedial lessons to help underachievers reach expected competencies in core academic skills.
• Work closely with form teacher to maintain discipline of subject class and to care for the well-being of students.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Vice-Principal or Head of Department.

Requirements
