Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic degree holder or above with at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Qualifications in teaching Chinese language highly preferred.

• Conversant in a second language besides English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and carry out instructional activities that promote active learning experiences.
• Establish and convey clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classroom for class activities.
• Prepare learning materials for educational activities.
• Identify and select instructional resources and methods for varied needs.
• Use technology to support instruction.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development.
• Set and administer assessments such as quizzes and exams.
• Maintain records of students’ progress and development.
• Prepare reports on students and activities.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain discipline.
• Provide pastoral duties such as student support and counseling.
• Communicate information to students, colleagues and parents.
• Stay updated with subject area and adjust plans accordingly.
• Conduct remedial lessons for underachievers.
• Work with form teachers to care for student well-being.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Vice-Principal or Head of Department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare variety of learning materials for use in educational activities
• Identify and select a variety of instructional resources and methods to cater to students’ varying needs
• Use relevant technology to support instruction
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development
• Set different forms of assessments such as quizzes, tests and examinations
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of students’ progress and development
• Prepare reports on students and activities
• Manage student behavior in the classroom appropriately
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the disciplinary system of the school
• Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary
• Perform certain pastoral duties such as student support and counseling
• Communicate necessary information frequently to students, colleagues and parents pertaining to student progress and student needs
• Keep updated with subject area, teaching resources and methodologies and make pertinent changes to instructional plans and activities
• Conduct remedial lessons to help underachievers reach expected competencies in core academic skills
• Work closely with form teacher to maintain discipline of subject class and to care for the well-being of students
• Any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Vice-Principal or Head of Department
