Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and carry out instructional activities that promote active learning experiences.
• Establish and convey clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classroom for class activities.
• Prepare a variety of learning materials for use in educational activities.
• Identify and select instructional resources and methods to cater to students’ varying needs.
• Use relevant technology to support instruction.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development.
• Set quizzes, tests and examinations to assess learning.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
• Prepare reports on students and activities.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Maintain discipline per school policy.
• Perform pastoral duties such as student support and counseling.
• Communicate information to students, colleagues and parents about student progress and needs.
• Keep updated with subject area and teaching resources and adjust plans accordingly.
• Conduct remedial lessons to help underachievers reach competencies in core skills.
• Work with form teacher to care for student well-being.
• Any other duties as assigned by leaders.

• Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary
• Perform certain pastoral duties such as student support and counseling
• Communicate necessary information frequently to students, colleagues and parents pertaining to student progress and student needs
• Keep updated with subject area, teaching resources and methodologies and make pertinent changes to instructional plans and activities
• Conduct remedial lessons to help underachievers reach expected competencies in core academic skills
• Work closely with form teacher to maintain discipline of subject class and to care for the well-being of students
• Any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Vice-Principal or Head of Department

Requirements

• Basic degree holder or above with at least 3 years of relevant working experience
