Chinese Language Teacher (Primary)

Job Purpose:

To plan and deliver engaging and effective Chinese Language lessons that develop students’ language proficiency, appreciation of Chinese culture, and lifelong learning habits, in alignment with the school’s curriculum and educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver Chinese Language lessons in accordance with school requirements and curriculum guidelines.
• Design learning activities and assessments that cater to students of different learning needs and abilities.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support students’ language learning and overall development.
• Manage classroom routines and create a positive, engaging learning environment that encourages participation and respect.
• Prepare teaching and learning resources, including lesson materials, worksheets, and assessment papers.
• Monitor and record students’ progress, and prepare reports or updates for parents and school management when required.
• Participate actively in departmental planning, meetings, curriculum review, and professional development activities.
• Support and organize school programmes and events.
• Carry out other teaching and administrative duties as assigned by the school.

Requirements:

• A recognised Degree in Chinese Language, Chinese Studies, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification (e.g. PGDE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong command of spoken and written Chinese, with good communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with Singapore’s education landscape and MOE Chinese Language curriculum will be an advantage.
